What We Do With Your Donation

One in 12 children in Missouri will experience the death of a parent or sibling by the age of 18. With your support, we provide grief education and resources to support grieving children and teens in Mid-Missouri and throughout Missouri.  Your contribution helps purchase materials and books for our care packs, provide online resources for families and caregivers, and offer training and outreach to schools, churches, and organizations.

How We Make A Difference

More than 150 grief literacy care packs have been distributed through hospitals and other organizations. After the death of a sibling, we received a note saying the family was so appreciative of the care pack and everyone at the hospital felt like they were sending the family home with some real practical tools for how to support this child.

Other care packs were given to children in similar situations as these:

  • A toddler whose parent was being removed from life support
  • Grandparents who were taking in a teen and younger child whose parent suddenly died
  • Two children after a parent experienced cardiac arrest from long-term medical complications
  • Two children who were siblings of a teenager who died in a vehicle accident
  • A toddler who lost an older sibling who died in the emergency department
  • Siblings after the death of an infant
  • Two pre-teens after the death of their parent
