Children grieve too. Thousands of children suffer a death of someone close to them but may not have help to experience the process of healing. Children go through many of the same feelings and sadness that adults do; yet, children’s grief is rarely addressed.
Kate's Heart focuses on literacy, not just reading, but other kinds of literacy including emotional literacy by making resources and materials more accessible. Our Hearts and Hope Project partners with Annie’s Hope, the Center for Grieving Children in St. Louis. We provide children’s books and materials to counselors and teachers when Annie’s Hope professional staff are asked to consult with schools in crisis.
Our Kate's Packs project donates Little Free Libraries to communities and organizations and making books readily available to share. We create Kate Packs (Kids Activities To Empower) to targeted organizations that support early childhood. Read more on our blog.
